Milwaukee Police Introduces New Publicly Accessible Crime Maps and Statistics

The Milwaukee Police Department is committed to promoting accountability through transparency. Effective today, the public may access data online about 8 major crime categories: homicide, rape, robbery, aggravated assault, burglary, theft-larceny, motor vehicle theft and arson (known as “Part 1 Crimes”). Users may filter crime data based on location (police district, aldermanic district and by neighborhood), time period and type of crime.

Crime statistics are updated daily but are subject to be changed at a later date based upon further investigation. Specific addresses and names of persons involved are not included to protect the identity of the individuals.

MPD’s new Crime Maps & Statistics website can be accessed at: https://city.milwaukee.gov/Directory/police/Crime-Maps-and-Statistics.htm#.XZuF2lVKhhE.
