On June 6, 2018, Milwaukee Police officers observed a silver 4-door Nissan Maxima with a Wisconsin temporary license plate run a red light near West Fond Du Lac and West Center St. After running the red light, the vehicle increased its speed to 85 miles an hour. Approximately 10 minutes later, the same officers observed the same vehicle with the same Wisconsin temporary license plate in the area of North Port Washington Avenue and West Keefe Avenue.
The officers activated their lights and sirens to conduct a traffic stop. However, the driver refused to pull over and led officers on a vehicle pursuit. The driver of the vehicle, Devin J. Buck, later pulled over and ran into a home near the 4500 block of North 38th St. Officers entered the residence and took Buck into custody. Buck was found guilty of Attempt Vehicle Operator Flee/Elude Officer and was sentenced to 1 and a half years in prison and 2 years of extended supervision.
The Milwaukee Police Department reminds all motorists that fleeing from Police is a felony. If you flee from the police, you will be arrested and charged to the fullest extent of the law. Pullover for police, because it’s not worth it if you don’t.
