Education in Milwaukee

The MPD’s Office of Community Outreach and Education (OCOE) helps bridge the gap between the police and the community as well as help build and strengthen relationships with our city’s schools.

OCOE is the primary unit to respond to calls for police service in and around our schools. They also provide a proactive and reactive police presence in our City using community-based strategies such as problem orientated policing, truancy abatement and burglary suppression operations. School Resource Officers are based in many schools to provide a connection between students and officers. OCOE also works with faith-based and community outreach programming and other collaborative efforts with our law enforcement and community partners.

The events of this story take place in District 5.
